ADCB supports charitable, non-competitive breast cancer awareness initiatives
Abu Dhabi, 21 November 2011: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (“ADCB”) announced its support to the lately launched breast cancer awareness campaigns, the Pink Polo held at Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club, Abu Dhabi and the Pink Walkathon, started and finished at BurJuman Mall, Dubai, both sporting events were organized to educate the public about the positive impact of early breast cancer diagnosis on survival rates.
The second annual Pink Polo charity match illustrated the community’s dedication to beating breast cancer and saw the ADCB team secure the top spot in the day’s exhibition polo match. The fun-filled day was organized by Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club in association with Health Authority Abu Dhabi, with ADCB as presenting partner. During the exciting clash, the ADCB team defeated the Estee Lauder team by 5-3.
Martin Scott, Chief Marketing Officer at ADCB, said:“We are delighted that we have emerged the victors in this polo game and send our thanks and congratulations to our excellent Emirati players, the Bin Desmal brothers, as well as their Argentine professional, Oscar Colombres, who have done us proud.
“We may have won the match, but we hope that the real winner is the fight against breast cancer and the message that Pink Polo sends to the people of the UAE.”
In the 3.6km Pink Walkathon organized by the BurJuman charity “Safe and Sound”, of which ADCB was a partner, a record number of 14,000 people participated, to show their solidarity and raised funds to help support the campaign’s outreach and patient support efforts.
